Crucial M500 Vs Bx100

hey guys I;m finally going to order parts for my Skylake build this weekend. I was all set with the EVO 850 but I just got an email from Tigerdirect and they have the m500 for $299 with no tax or shipping. The EVO will run me $368 with tax, that was the lowest I've found, so it's a pretty substantial difference.

The MX500 is Crucial’s current flagship consumer SATA SSD featuring their latest second generation 64-layer 3D TLC NAND. It’s available in 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB capacities in a 2.5-inch form factor. All but the 2 TB version will also be available in M.2 (2280) form in the future. Find support for our complete range of memory and system storage, along with helpful information on warranties, installation guides and firmware updates.

EDIT: m500 even comes with $20 MIR so final price would only be $279.

Anyone have experience with crucial m500 or know if it's a good drive? Seems the write speeds are a bit slower than the EVO but I doubt I'd notice in everyday use. How about reliability and writes/warranty? thanks

‘crucial-fw.pl’ is a little script to generate a single grub config for any crucial ssd firmware upgrade. It’s a perl script.

You need:

‘crucial-fw.pl’ generates a file for grub (default is /etc/grub.d/45_crucial-fw).Depending on the iso file, it will switch between two loading mode and grab the isolinux.cfg if needed. This configuration is creating a submenu entry for grub containing one menu entry for each ssd reference specified in the configuration.

Your linux kernel must be able to mount a loopback iso file (loop and isofs modules). Any vanilla kernel is. Microsoft flight simulator helgoland serial key.

You have to maintain the .cfg file up-to-date.

Default behavior is to try to detect the kind of ssd running on the current host. You can generate all of them with the '-a' option.
