What is CutStudio?

Roland DG’s CutStudio software is a graphics editing program used to create pro-quality cut images. These images can be used for a variety of things: to create signage, to add to product packaging and labeling materials, to create custom cutouts for automobile decoration, and so on. The software has its own drawing tools for creating shapes and editing text pathways or shapes, but most users actually import their base designs from other graphics editors. CutStudio encourages that too by providing plugins for users who want to integrate it into Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW.
TrueType fonts are supported by CutStudio, which translates to more precision in text elements. It also has a text welding function that ensures clean, crisp cutting of fonts. It can cut only the user’s selections from any given graphic and is capable of multi-level undo and redo operations. Most of the standard cut graphics formats are supported, including JPG, STX, BMP and AI. JPG and BMP images imported into the software can be converted into easily cuttable formats through a vectorization feature. It also works with all the legacy CAMM-1 cutting machines.
